Automated Trading Debate in 2018 will look at the state of media trading today and offer insights into the latest innovations, trends and challenges. Buyers and sellers will give us their views on each trading medium separately, serving as a quick all-in view across the industry. The event will cover the biggest issues facing the media and adtech business, including the models and dynamics that are driving change now and likely to do so in the future.

Mediatel's Automated Trading was the event that first exposed how little publishers were taking from programmatic, the event that started giving you blockchain and traceable time insights; and the only event that has continued to look at "automated" trading over the years where the real benefit in efficiency lies, and not just programmatic, where ROI has often been doubtful.

Kristen Kelly is responsible for delivering market leading data and technology enabled trading solutions that offer flexibility, brand protection, transparency, and performance for Publicis Media across the EMEA region. Kelly has extensive experience across client-service, ad technology and digital marketing consulting. Her previous role as EVP/MD of Global Client Development for Publicis Media’s Data Sciences practice saw her lead client strategy and go to market activities for Publicis PeopleCloud, a transformational platform that provides Publicis Groupe clients with a seamless, end-to-end experience for driving growth. Prior to this, Kelly was Global MD for RUN, a Publicis owned cross-device DMP and DSP. She was responsible for launching the product in EMEA and APAC, including the consultation on operational structures, data partnerships and inventory sources to ensure the product was fit-for-purpose for a global audience. A 14 year veteran of Publicis Media, Kelly spent 7 years managing Samsung Mobile’s Communication strategy and central activation for Starcom across 80+ countries. She holds a dual MBA from London Business School and Columbia University.

CEO, VIOOH

Jean-Christophe (JC) Conti is currently the CEO of VIOOH, the OOH platform automating the out of home (OOH) industry and enabling programmatic trading for media owners and buyers. In this role, JC is responsible for the platform’s global roll out, accelerating its go to market on both demand and supply sides of the ecosystem. Previously JC was VP in charge of Publisher Business Unit for EMEA at AppNexus from 2014 to 2017. In his role, he was in charge of the Go to Market and development of AppNexus Publisher and supply side businesses. Jean-Christophe and his team have been driving a significant growth for AppNexus in the EMEA region, signing many strategic Ad tech Display and Video partnerships, with leading publisher and media groups, Telcos and broadcasters such as Schibsted, Le Figaro, Prisa, Lagardère, De Piersgroup, Sanoma, TF1, Mail Online, eBay Europe… among others. Jean-Christophe also headed Yahoo Strategic Partnership Group in EMEA and in this role; he was responsible for all Yahoo strategic partnerships in Europe, ranging from search marketing business, content right management deals and Yahoo ad network partnerships in Europe. These positions included large multi-cultural team management, P&L responsibility and implied to deliver sustained revenue growth. Over the last 15 years, JC had the responsibility of P&Ls up to $450M, and teams ranging from 27 to 180 people. JC is a seasoned digital exec who held several Business Development positions at Overture and Orange prior to Yahoo. He is the proud father of 3 and speaks English, Spanish and French fluently and lives in London

Gavin Lee

Gavin Lee was appointed to be the first Posterscope CTO at the start of 2018, in recognition of the increasing influence of technology at the world’s leading location-based marketing specialist. With over 20 years at Posterscope, originally with a background in media investment and planning Gavin has always driven the use of data-led planning within the organisation. Over the past five years he has created and led a technology function that has built propriety tech platforms, which are transforming the approach to location planning, OOH transaction and DOOH content delivery. A driving force in connecting up the supply and demand sides of the industry and pioneering automation and programmatic approaches in the UK & global markets. Gavin and his team are focused on the digital transformation of the Posterscope network with the platforms scaled to over 30 markets. But also the OOH industry more widely as a co-chair of the OOH Standards Committee in order to transition to a more automated, connected and data-driven future for the medium as a whole.

He regularly chairs conferences for Mediatel and other organisations, including ISBA and the IAB, hosts video shows, and is a consultant editor for the IPA and the Content Marketing Association. He advises agencies and various industry bodies, and occasionally works with content agencies on pitches. In previous lives (and before his beard went grey), he was once a financial journalist for Euromoney and then Reuters. He has also been a group editor for Redwood, and wrote a weekly column on advertising and media for the Daily Telegraph.
